RV Garages for Sale
If you own an RV, you know how much it costs to keep one in good shape. Leaving it parked outside through sun, rain, and hail wears it down faster than most people expect. A metal RV garage gives your vehicle proper year-round protection and costs far less than what you’d spend on off-site storage over just a few years.
At American Metal Garages, our RV garages are fully enclosed steel structures built to fit your recreational vehicle. You choose the width, length, wall height, roof style, and door placement, and our experts will build it to your needs. Free delivery and installation included.

Popular Metal RV Garage Sizes
The size of the garage you need depends on the class of your RV or motorhome. If you have antennas or an AC unit on the roof, you may need to increase your garage door height above the minimums shown below.
| RV Class | Garage Door Height | Minimum Garage Size |
| Class A | 14 ft | 18 ft x 50 ft x 16 ft |
| Class B | 12 ft | 20 ft x 24 ft x 14 ft |
| Class B+ | 12 ft | 12 ft x 25 ft x 14 ft |
| Class C | 14 ft | 26 ft x 48 ft x 16 ft |
These are minimum sizes. If your RV has slide-outs, add at least 4 feet to the width when they’re fully extended. If you want room to walk around the vehicle, store gear alongside it, or work on it inside the garage, size up.
Height, Width, and Length - What to Check Before You Order
- Height is the most common ordering mistake on RV garages. Your brochure height is not the number to use. Measure with the AC unit on top, antennas raised, and any satellite or solar equipment in place. That’s your real clearance requirement. Add at least 1 foot above that for the leg height.
- Width starts at 12 feet for basic coverage. An RV with slide-outs fully extended can need 18 feet or more. If you want space to walk alongside the RV, open compartments, or store gear, plan for 20 feet or wider.
- Length– measure bumper to bumper and add 4 to 5 feet. You want room to open the rear compartments and walk around the back without stepping outside the building.
RV Garage Features and Customization
- Size- width, length, and wall height based on your RV's actual dimensions and how much extra space you want.
- Roof style- vertical roof is what we recommend for RV garages. Panels run top to bottom, so rain, debris, and snow shed off cleanly.
- Roll-up doors- sized for your RV's height and width. Door height is a separate decision from wall height, make sure both are right before you order. We can add multiple doors if you want a second entry point for a vehicle or tools.
- Walk-in doors - for daily access without opening the main door every time.
- Windows- natural light and ventilation. Useful if you're doing maintenance inside the building regularly.
- Steel gauge - 12-gauge framing for maximum strength, 14-gauge for standard use. 12-gauge also comes with a longer warranty.
- Insulation - worth adding if you plan to work on your RV inside, or if you want to keep the interior temperature more stable for protecting the vehicle's upholstery and components.
- Colors - roof, panels and trim in your choice from our full color range.
- Anchoring - concrete anchors into a concrete slab for a fully enclosed building of this size.
A properly planned garage saves time, protects valuable equipment and gives you cleaner working space on your property.
Foundation and Site Preparation
A fully enclosed RV garage needs a proper concrete foundation. A building this size, fully enclosed and under wind load, needs to be anchored solidly, ground anchors are not appropriate for a structure of this type.
