We get a lot of calls from folks who are confused, frustrated, or just not sure who to trust anymore. And we get it. There are a lot of people online claiming they sell metal buildings, throwing out low prices, saying they can do it all. But here’s what you don’t always see right away: a lot of those folks aren’t actually building anything. They’re taking deposits, passing you off to someone else, and disappearing when you need help.

That’s not how we do business.

We’re American Metal Garages. We’re based in Mount Airy, North Carolina. If you’ve heard of us, it might be because Mount Airy’s known as the carport capital of the country. This isn’t just something we do on the side—it’s what we know. We’ve worked directly with the manufacturers, so we understand how these buildings go together. We also know what tends to go wrong when they’re sold by people who’ve never installed one in their life.

We’ve built good relationships with the manufacturers because we’re honest and easy to work with. That means when you order through us, you get treated right. No getting ignored, no getting shuffled to the back of the line.

Now, to clear up some common questions:
We don’t fix leaky carports. We don’t sell spare parts. We don’t add panels to old buildings. We don’t pour concrete slabs, and we don’t build wooden structures or pole barns. We also don’t sell anything over 80 feet wide.

What we do is sell new, pre-engineered metal buildings—standard or custom. That’s it. We do it well, and we stand by what we sell.

If you’re just price-shopping and looking for the cheapest thing out there, we may not be your first call. But if you want something solid, from people who actually know the business and don’t disappear after the sale, then we’ll be glad to help.
